Image
BredZ and ArmX are classmates and are exercising their brain muscles at recess.   BredZ: “I have been recently watching some Logical pro ultra Max stuffs and I found that God is just a concept made by man. Nothing more.” ArmX: “Woww ..sounds cool na... Btw.. then tell me, what are abuses or praise?” BredZ: “Abuses or praise… abuse is what is bad and hurt you and praise is what is good thing people tell about you and gives you a feeling of happiness.  ArmX: “Well what if I say, abuse and praise are just particular speech sounds, or written symbols. Who decides which sounds are abuse or praise? Why do certain words make you feel hurt or happy? The sounds themselves have no inherent value.” BredZ: “But surely words have meaning and they real! ArmX: “Let me clarify. Words themselves don’t carry inherent value. What carries value are the things or feelings the words point toward — happiness, sadness, prestige, shame. Words are just a tool to refer to them. Even if we didn’t ha...

Why the idea of self growth is scary!

Image
What is self growth? To develop one's full potential. What are your potential? You need to try a lot of different things to be able to know that. But as you wish to try a lot of different things what stops you? Your 'self'. Why? Because trying out new things risk your already established identity.  Our identity forms with what we think and do. If we choose to think differently or do different things then the identity runs a risk of getting lost or replaced by another identity. With a lot of hard work, compromises, and not to mention the fake expressions, we convinced others to like our this identity and what would happen if this is lost!? Therefore once a good identity is formed it is always risky to change it. But we are not that simple beings. We often are triggered by our dreams, or conscience which force us to think in the direction of self improvement. There is a sense within like a which always inform us about things which can be better within and around us.  But it n...

Understanding the Shame and its Implications

Part I - The Definition and Types What is shame? Shame is a kind of unpleasant feeling of guilt. When do we get that feeling? This feeling arises when we do something that's morally wrong and when we do something that's socially uncommon. From whom do we feel shame? We feel shame to people who we admire, those who admire us, those whose opinion matter to us, those whom we see equal or higher than us. We usually don't feel shame to those who are inferior to us such as beggars, infants or animals especially in doing something that's socially unacceptable or uncommon. For example, there's this employee of a company doesn't feel shameful to use abusive language if the company's peon is around but he will feel shameful to abuse if his boss is around. For he admires the position of boss, and he considers his opinion as worthy, and he may get benefits from the boss in the long run. On the other hand, a peon's opinion doesn't matter, neither he admire the p...

A mysterious palace -short story on God and Science

This person has no other job than to peep in that big palace through the windows.  So Marx observe whatever the activities take place in the palace.  Marx observes that whenever any guest enters the palace as soon as he goes into the main hall, the light's color changes from red to pink. As he sits on the sofa, the fan gets start. As he looks on the TV, it turns on by itself. As the person goes near the fridge and opens its door he finds always food in large amount. Marx has been observing this same phenomenon since years. So he writes a book namely "laws of palace" in which he explains about his observations. Since Marx has never seen any owner of the palace, he just seen that whenever any guest arrives such and such phenomenon occurs. He never seen any man (owner) serving the guest so he never wrote anything about the own...

When Life becomes Stagnant; Dealing with boredom

Image
When you search the internet on dealing with boredom you'll find a bunch of articles and everyone of them will tell you some good ways to overcome boredom. They would talk about watching movies, travel, read books, have control on life, etc.   So I won't tell you what they already told and I'll try to present a different perspective which I think is the main cause of boredom.  So let's begin with an allegory. There was a person who was going to a place "honolulu". He boarded on the train.  As the train started running, he got to see amazing views   from the window, the journey was excited. The place where he had to go could arrive anytime, and he had to pull chain to stop the train because that was not the stopping station. But the person had little patience. Soon he started getting bored, the outside view became stagnant, all the villages the train passing through were same.   As the time kept passing he got irritated and frustrated because of bo...

Understanding "Desires" in the Time bound World

Image
Desires - an intrinsic motivator or an substantial evil? Philosophers and theologians have described it differently. For some, desire is something to be fulfilled immediately to get happiness while for others desire is something a source of evil and must be shunned inorder to live happily.  What I think is a bit differently than both the ideas. I've Divided the Desires in two sets.  1. Wiser Desires 2. Deep Desires 1. Wiser Desires - These are the desires that are socially acceptable and are compatible with this world. Wiser Desires are desires that has to do with improvement. It could be self improvement, or the improvement of society such as propagating a good idea or eradicating a widely accepted wrong tradition.  A desire to help others, a desire to maintain justice, a desire to establish truth are included in this category of desire. A person who pays attention to the world, who ponders over world's fallibility and life's fragility ultimately develop such desires. Wh...
